Events & Development Officer

Job description:

This is an important position in ACC, responsible for delivering ACC development and event programs in a commercially viable and creative manner. The Events and Development Officer would report to the ACC’s Head of Events & Commercial and be responsible for the delivery of all the ACC tournaments and programs, maintaining a strong focus on achieving ACC objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Responsible for the event, and development-related areas, including but not limited to; 
    1. Operational management of ACC Events in a commercially successful and efficient manner.
    2. Player eligibility issues and management/recording.
    3. Tournaments’ databases and records.
    4. Maintenance of databases of umpires, coaches, and related officials in member countries
    5. Liaison with other boards, government authorities, etc.
  2. Work with the Head of Events and Commercial in managing all the stakeholders and sponsors of ACC events
  3. Assist the Head of Events and Commercial in delivering the ACC Events and Programme calendar with the aim of maintaining cricket as a premier sport in Asia and providing the foundation for Asian teams to perform to the best of their ability in international competitions.
  4. Oversee and supervise the designated website and social media agency to ensure the proper delivery of their services.
  5. Assist the Head of Events and Commercial in introducing, strategies and practices, including commercial strategies, to grow Asia’s participant base and help establish pathways for players and resource persons of all ages, genders, and cultures throughout Asia in a structured manner.
  6. Supervise and oversee the assigned archival management agency and ensure that their work is being completed to a satisfactory standard.
  7. Developing and managing a constructive network among the ICC, ACC members, existing and potential commercial partners, and other stakeholders to facilitate the effective delivery of job responsibilities with the aim of bringing in new sponsors to the ACC.
  8. Assist the Head of Events and Commercial in developing brand strategies and guidelines for ACC commercial properties and work closely with all stakeholders to create new revenue streams for ACC.
  9. Work with the Head of Events and Commercial in developing and delivering innovative cricket training programs in line with the organization’s strategic goals.
  10. Work with the Head of Events and Commercial to ensure best practice/high standard execution and on-budget delivery of all ACC events and programs.
  11. Undertake other duties as may be required from time to time consistent with plans or policies introduced by the ACC Board.

Master’s degree is preferred.

Requirements for a successful candidate:

Should have extensive experience in sports management and/or event management with direct experience in involving a sporting body and/or premier event.

The applicant must be operationally savvy with the ability to work on new event & revenue concepts, new commercial partners, and ideas. Previous experience working in an active sports development role, ideally within a cricket context, would be preferred.

Individuals who have played at a high level of professional cricket or have been on their country’s national team would have a competitive edge.

The successful candidate must be a dynamic, tenacious, and energetic individual with the ability to work with and adapt to different backgrounds across cultural and national identities, and we envision the successful candidate having a long-term future with ACC.

Knowledge & skills:



Updated knowledge and interest in the ever-changing landscape of the game of cricket and the sports industry in general.


Work collaboratively with others to achieve business and department objectives.


The ability to present solutions and sound event planning skills with attention to detail, make the best decision under pressure, and an ability to work with volunteers and administrators.


Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language, including strong report-writing and presentation skills, the ability to influence and persuade, and MS Office skills.

Time Management:

Excellent time management skills, multi-tasking abilities, and the ability to work to deadlines.
