Hosts Bangladesh will take on Pakistan in the final of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday, with both teams looking to clinch the title for the first time.

FINAL: Pakistan v Bangladesh at SBNCS, Mirpur

The final is expected to be an even battle between the two sides who have moved into the final with an all-win record.

Bangladesh reached the semifinals as Group B champions beating Hong Kong, Nepal and India before getting the better of Afghanistan by seven wickets in the last-four battle.

Pakistan, too, had a smooth run-up in the first three matches, dispatching Afghanistan, Oman and Sri Lanka in group stage before overcoming arch-rivals India with a thrilling three-run win in semifinals.

This will be the third final appearance for Pakistan, who ended up on the losing side in 2013 and 2017. Rohail Nazir and Co. will be desperately looking to break their title jinx.

For Bangladesh, though, it will be an opportunity to win the title at home, having failed to get past the semifinal stage on previous occasions.

Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto has led the Bangladesh team from the front, being on the top of run-getters’ chart with 234 runs in four games including three half-centuries. Opener Soumya Sarkar, too, has been in fine form as the left-hander is third on the list with 229 runs.

Bangladesh Pacer Sumon Khan leads the bowling charts with eleven wickets. Pakistan’s opener Haider Ali is the highest run-getter for his side with 192 runs including a century.
