Day 1: INDIA START WITH EASY WIN OVER NEPAL

India began the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup on a positive note with a seven-wicket win over Nepal in one of the Group A matches at the BKSP-3 ground in Savar on Thursday.

Chasing a modest target of 194, India romped to victory with eight overs to spare.

Man of the Match: Saurabh Dubey (India)

Sent in to bat, Nepal faced the music from the Indian bowlers as they were unable to put on any significant partnership and were eventually bowled out for 193 in 44.5 overs.

Pawwan Sarraf top-scored with 56 off 49 balls courtesy of seven fours and two sixes while Sharad Vesawkar added 44, but Nepal struggled right through the innings.

Indian pacer Saurabh Dubey picked up four wickets while Yash Rathod took three and Parth Rekhade bagged two.

India started their reply confidently and put on 74 runs for the opening wicket before skipper BR Sharath was dismissed for a run-a-ball 49 while his partner Aryan Juyal followed him soon after scoring 29.

Sanvir Singh and Armaan Jaffer then took charge and added 97 runs for the third wicket which was enough for India to eventually seal an easy win.

Sanvir, however, was dismissed for 56 but Jaffer remained unbeaten on 51 off 77 balls.
