  • A FOUR to fine leg, flicked expertly by the little man seals it for his country. Huge applause from neutrals and the Malaysian fans, it was a very mature innings, soaked up all the pressure, saw it through from start to finish for his team and they're out there in the middle flags flying, these home-grown players a fine product of the development programs of Malaysia
  • It had been a terrific match, the bowlers and fielders on top throughout. One young boy, the smallest on his side, played the innings of his life and it is he who has carried his team to a fine ACC U-16 Elite Cup victory against some worthy opponents.
  • Players from both sides are sure to feature in future age-group and senior tournaments, we look forward to welcoming them back
  • The prize-giving's running now, starting things off: a Mother's Day cake brought out by the Malaysian players, "for everyone's mother" says Malaysia's captain Thejas Rajah. The Nepal players don't look too downhearted, they know they gave their best. It was though the first close game I can recall Nepal ever losing, and the first close game anyone at the ground can recall a Malaysian side ever winning! New generations, new histories. It was a fine game, a terrific opportunity to see some young men learn what it takes to succeed as cricketers and citizens on an international stage.
