DAY 3: AFGHANISTAN CRUISE, QATAR BEMUSE

Afghanistan continued in its winning ways with an eight-wicket victory over plucky Kuwait on Day 3 of the ACC U-16 Elite Cup in Doha. Kuwait's top order, facing pace bowling quicker than anything they've ever faced before acquitted themselves well initially before succumbing to the wiles of spinner Abdul Wasi who took 7-13. Hong Kong and Qatar enjoyed a much more even battle, with Qatar in range of Hong Kong's 220 with an opening partnership of 91. But it's not how well you start, it's how well you finish...

Qatar's last five batsmen undid the good work of their team-mates and perhaps even more, by deciding en masse not to bat when their turn came. The Qatar innings had to be declared closed at 128 in the 33rd over.
