Nadeem Ahmed claimed 5-35 as Hong Kong beat Singapore by 45 runs in an ACC Trophy Elite 2010 Group A match played at the Hubara ground in Kuwait today. The result means Hong Kong still have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals; Singapore finish bottom of the group.

Hong Kong recovered from a precarious 118-8 at the 33 over mark to post a total of 194 all out from 46.2 overs, thanks largely to the efforts of Moner Ahmed (44) and Nadeem Ahmed (28) who batted sensibly for their runs.

In reply, Singapore appeared to be well in command of their run chase at 107-3 from 29 overs but some tight bowling combined with some indisciplined batting saw them capitulate to 149 all out from 44 overs.

The victory keeps alive Hong Kong's chances of reaching the tournament semi-finals, with their last group match against Oman on Tuesday, 6th April. Singapore move down to the ACC Trophy Challenge division, to be played next in 2012.
