UAE, HK EMERGING TEAMS ASIA CUP MATCH RAINED OUT



United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong rain-marred match of ACC Emerging Players Asia Cup did not have any result in their last league game of group B played at South End Cricket Ground, Karachi on Sunday.

Proceedings of the match were delayed time and again during the day by rain that led to no result, getting one point each for the teams.

Having won the toss, UAE team decided to take the field in an overcast condition. Hong Kong had a jittery start to its batting as they were two wickets down in two overs. Babar Hayat was their only batter to stay at the crease with responsibility scoring 45 not out.

Their first wicket (of Nizakat Khan) fall on the second ball of the day and second scalp (of Raag Kapuir) on fifth ball of the second over. Two for nine, Hong Kong had little recovery of 43 runs on board when their third wicket of Aizaz Khan fell by the 13th over. Shahid Wasif was their fourth batsmen to head to the pavilion. Slowly progressing, Hong Kong when reached the 31st over, heaven opened and the match was stopped. Later it was abandoned for one point each for the either team. Mohammad Naveed, Qadeer Ahmed, Ahmed Raza and Amir Hayat shared one wicket each.
