Meet Team Malaysia going into the ACC Asia Cup Qualifiers 2018

Mr Sampath Perera as Head Coach leads the Malaysian National Cricket team. Having had the team since July, his focus is strengthening the team’s skills and mental focus. Meanwhile, Team Manager Mr Mohammed Iqbal Ali ensures that the team is in the best frame of mind and well-being going into the qualifiers.

Leading the team itself is Captain Ahmad Faiz Noor who recently took his Kuala Lumpur team into the finals of the Malaysian Premier League, taking the championship and trophy for the 4th consecutive year. Airman Syahadat Ramli is the Vice Captain and one of four RMAF personnel in this selection. The others are Abdul Rashid, Suharril Fetri and Anwar Arudin. Completing the team are brothers Pavandeep and Virandeep Singh, Dhivendran, Syazrul Ezzat, Sharvin, Saifullah and Mohd Syafiq who are all tough and seasoned cricketers.

About the ACC Asia Cup Qualifiers 2018

Six countries have confirmed their berths in the 2018 ACC Asia Cup Qualifier to be held in Malaysia on August 29 to September 6.

Hosts Malaysia will be joined by Hong Kong, Nepal, Oman, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates for one qualifying spot at the Asia Cup in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on September 15-28.

Three grounds will be used for the tournament. They are the Kinrara Oval, the Bayuemas Oval in Klang and the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Oval in Bangi.
