  • Afghanistan to play their first ODI in Dubai after securing test status

India remain unbeaten in the Unimoni Asia Cup 2018 after a second victory over Pakistan in Dubai. This win means India have booked their spot in the final, they next take on Afghanistan on 25 September in Dubai. This will be Afghanistan’s first appearance at the Dubai International Stadium since their full member status in world cricket.

Pakistan take on Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi in a must-win game for both on 26 September. Below are details of the results from earlier today.

INDIA DEFEAT PAKISTAN BY 9 WICKETS

India v Pakistan at Dubai
INDIA WON BY NINE WICKETS
Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat
Pakistan: 237 for 7 off 50 overs (F.Zaman 31, S.Malik 78, S.Ahmed 44, A.Ali 30)
India: 238 for 1 off 39.3 overs (S.Dhawan 114, R.Sharma 111*)
Man of the Match: Shikhar Dhawan (India)

PAKISTAN COACH, MICKEY ARTHUR

“Our strike rates were not good enough with the bat, we were put under pressure. Then with the ball we needed to strike early, if you can strike early then you have a chance. We had a couple of chances that presented themselves, we didn’t take them, and that was disappointing. When you let these guys get in on a wicket like this they dominate you. We need to get into their middle order as quick as we can, because that is when you can inflict most damage and put pressure, much like they did to us.”

INDIA PLAYER, YUZVENDRA CHAHAL

“The mood in the dressing room is positive as we started with a tough win against Hong Kong. We have not lost a match in the series so far, and we have beaten Pakistan twice, that is great for our confidence leading up to Friday’s final.”
