BANGLADESH BEAT SRI LANKA IN OPENING TIE OF UNIMONI ASIA CUP 2018

Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by 137 runs in the Unimoni Asia Cup 2018 opener at Dubai Sports City’s Dubai International Stadium.

SRI LANKA CAPTAIN, ANGELO MATHEWS

"The batting was our main downfall today to be honest. Lasith started off brilliantly taking three wickets for three runs and we let them off the hook through our fielding. We dropped some crucial catches. I think Lasith was outstanding today, and still 260 was a chaseable target on this wicket, because it was a very good wicket, and it played really well. But we made a lot of bad decisions while batting.
"We are under pressure, we have just one life-line and we have to win it. It is a do or die game for us, we are looking forward to it."

BANGLADESH CAPTAIN, MASHRAFE MORTAZA

"I think Mushfiqur (Rahim) played one of the best one day innings from the Bangladesh side, it was under pressure, as we had lost wickets early.  Also Tamim couldn’t bat in that particular time. The way Mushfiqur batted especially when he finished his innings was really good."
