Bhutan v Kuwait at Kinrara Oval, Kuala Lumpur

The Kuwait U-17s on the eve of their departure for Malaysia

Kuwait thumped Bhutan by 262 runs in a rather one-sided encounter. Bhutan's bowlers were made to particularly suffer by Kuwaiti opener Omer Salahuddin as he smashed his way to 135 off just 95 deliveries, including twenty-two 4s. All the other batsmen were kept honest by a persevering Bhutan attack of whom Tashi was the pick, with 2-27 off his allotted nine overs.

The real gulf between the two teams was apparent however, when it came to the Bhutan innings. From the very first ball when opener Kenco Norbu's defences were demolished by Hasan Ali, Bhutan were in trouble and only Tashi who survived for 41 deliveries showed the necessary ability to combat the Kuwaiti pace bowlers.
