Hong Kong v Oman at Kelab Aman, Kuala Lumpur

Hong Kong were in control of this game following a second-wicket stand of 89 between opener Nigel Shroff and Irfan Ahmed. Ahmed's class was evident for all to see until adjudged leg-before to off-spinner Akshay Srinivasan for 38, who extracted considerable turn off the wicket.

Shroff continued to play steadily and would have been disappointed to be bowled by Srinivasan two short of a deserved half-century. Daniel Fullgrabe opened his shoulders for a spectacular 42 off 34 deliveries, including six 4s.

Oman's bowlers performed creditably but 37 wides played a big factor in allowing Hong Kong to post 231. A rain-interruption early in the Oman innings meant that five overs were lost and Duckworth-Lewis calculations meant that Oman's target was adjusted to 217 off 40 overs. They were never quite up with the rate but skipper Vivek Venkataram ensured Oman stayed in the hunt with an enterprising 80 off 76 deliveries including eight 4s.
