Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 8 champions Kuwait will be in Botswana at the start of May playing Division 7 and “we’re looking to win it also,” says captain Hisham Mirza, “we’re going to do our best.”

Botswana, Germany, Japan, Nigeria, Norway are the other countries taking part in an event which “by providing a meaningful competition pathway and regular opportunities to compete on the international stage continues to play an important role in improving the standard of cricket amongst Associate and Affiliate Members,” said ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat in his welcome message to the teams.

“Kuwait have every chance of winning WCL 7”, says ACC Development Officer for Kuwait Iqbal Sikander, “they’ve got some good pace-bowling all-rounders who are going to be key and even though playing on astroturf will be a new experience for Kuwait, I can see them being right up there at the end.”
