Myanmar's desire to develop continues apace with news of cricket being taken into another region of the country, Bago, north of Yangon in the Irrawaddy Delta region. What got there first, before any bats and balls was the movie ‘Boba’ a Myanmarese version of 'Lagaan', directed by Federation President U Nyunt Win which was a big hit across the country and raised awareness of cricket as a fun and playable sport. The local schools in Bago now wish to play the game.

The Myanmar Cricket Federation’s next step to spread the game is a documentary ‘How to Play Cricket’,” says ACC Development Officer for Myanmar Aminul Islam.  Myanmar needs a full-time national coach desperately. They also need a bowling machine,” he adds.
