The Emirates Cricket Board has confirmed plans to establish a national women's cricket team. They are the only Gulf country yet to do so.
The team will take part in the ACC women's tournament, to be held in Malaysia in July.
Smitha Harikrishna and Pramila Korikar, two former national cricketers of India, will work with the players in the lead-up to the tournament. Close to 2000 girls and women took part in a cricket carnival earlier this year.
