34 aspiring coaches from Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Qatar, Singapore and Thailand have been through the latest ACC Level II Coaching Program. The course took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is the fourth to be held in the country in the past four years. ACC Development Officers Aminul Islam, Rumesh Ratnayake and Iqbal Sikander along with Malaysian external tutors Pubalan Muniandy and Dr. Amarjit Singh Gill took the coaches through the modules. "We were pleased to see the quality of candidates, all are likely to make strong contributions to their countries' players," says Iqbal Sikander.

Half the candidates at the course are current or former national players. “Level II makes a coach encounter fresh perspectives like bio-mechanics and video analysis, compared to Level I programs and it is with these insights a modern coach can distinguish themselves from previous generations. All are aids to the kind of all-round hands-on coaching that makes for a good coach,” says Aminul Islam.

Indoor and outdoor practicals and written assessments concluded the course, from which all but six achieved a passing grade and will be asked to sit again.
