The Brunei Darussalam Cricket Association (BDCA) have launched a website,, the first by a sporting association in Brunei to promote themselves and cricket in the Sultanate.

“There were a number of reasons for doing this,” says BDCA CEO Manzur Ahmed. “A website is good for promotional purposes and to spread information about activity. It is a very good way to reach the people in Brunei and show them and the cricketers what is going on as well as our stakeholders. It is a transparent medium and it is also a part of the requirements set by the ACC and ICC for good administration to have a website. I encourage more and more youths to join this great sport.”

Present to launch the website was the President of Brunei Darussalam National Cricket Association, Haji Abdul Wahab bin Hj Tengah. Also present to witness the auspicious occasion were officials from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and other council members of the association.

"Currently there are around 100 junior players (10 to 12 years old) including girls in Brunei Darussalam and we aim to reach out to secondary students," says Mr. Ahmed.

"The association will be organising a Senior Tournament while the Inter-Primary Tournament is set to take off in August. By the end of this year, we are planning to host an Inter-Vocational and Technical Institutions Tournament," adds Mr. Ahmed.
