A journey that started in Thailand in February 2011 at the ACC U-19 Elite Cup for Afghanistan’s and Nepal’s Under-19 cricketers reaches its climax in Queensland, Australia this month with the ICC U19 World Cup. The journey took them to Ireland last August where they came through a Qualifier in the top six out of a field of ten other ICC Associates and Affiliates. They join the ten Full Members in this year’s World Cup, having taken on four of them in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup last month.

Australia are defending champions having defeated Pakistan in 2010’s Final. The competition features a significant number of first-class cricketers and ODI cricketers, many of whom are likely to go on to further international honours.

Ten matches from the Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville will be broadcast live during the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup.
