Sistan & Baluchistan ‘A’ won the eighth national men’s tournament at Konarak in Chabahar province. They headed a six-team event, with Sistan & Baluchistan ‘B’ coming second.

Tehran fielded a team for the first time in several years and finished third. “Our players were beginners and had no experience of official games,” said their coach Zaven Baba Khani, “our goal was only taking part and we didn’t expect any good results.”

Sistan &  Baluchistan had by far the best players in the tournament, “they played so beautifully and skillfully” says Ahmad Abdi Zadeh, a Tehran cricketer.
