WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION ON THE LINE FOR OMAN AND UAE

Oman and the UAE join Argentina, Denmark, Uganda and hosts Namibia in ICC World Cricket League Division 2 at the end of November. At stake is a place in the ICC World Cup Qualifier (ie. ICC Trophy) in April 2009. The top four teams from Division 2 go through directly with the fifth and sixth teams having to go down to Division 3 in order to qualify afresh for the 2011 World Cup.

Mazhar Khan ECB Administrator said, "It won't be easy but the team have prepared well and having the 2009 World Cup Qualifier in the UAE gives us a great chance to get to the 2011 World Cup should we get through Division 2." On the way to Namibia, the UAE will be playing warm-up matches in South Africa.
