The Malaysia Cricket Association and HSBC Bank have embarked on a landmark joint-venture worth $200,000 to develop junior cricket throughout peninsular and east Malaysia.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Tunku Imran President of the MCA said, “our ambitions to promote cricket throughout the country now have a proper focus thanks to the support of HSBC and I am confident we’ll see our efforts translate into results at national and international level.”

Mr. Zarir Cama, Group General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Malaysia reiterated these sentiments, saying “HSBC have recognised the necessary priorities and with this action we are showing our corporate commitment to supporting the values of cricket – how to build team-spirit, how to win through teamwork, how to live with victory. Working with the MCA to develop the future foundations of the game gives us great pleasure and we wish to set an example for other sponsors to emulate.”
