RAEES AHMADZAI: LEADING AFGHAN CRICKET

How is the team preparing for the ACC Trophy in Kuala Lumpur?

We are aware that Malaysia is very humid and so we will try adapting to the heat as best as we can because this would play a major factor in all the games. We are hoping that our pace bowlers will be effective here because their speed troubles any batsman. Other than that we are going about our regular routine pushing ourselves and encouraging teammates. Working as a team and giving each other help and advice binds the team and makes us stronger.

Is there any particular aim for Afghani cricket?

My aim for Afghanistan cricket is to see it enter the international realm as soon as possible. I would also like the see the improvement in the infrastructure of the game.

With ACC Development Officer Iqbal Sikander

Which cricketer would you want to play like?

There are many cricketers in world but I want to play like Inzamam-ul-Haq. He is, without a doubt, one the best in the world.

Do you have any cricketing heroes?

My cricket heroes are former Pakistan captain Aamir Sohail, Michael Vaughan of England and Ramnaresh Sarwan of the West Indies.
